Jackie has been struggling with her health for several years with the last two being the hardest. In the last year she has been in the hospital more than she's been at home. First it was open heart surgery in October 2013 to replace her mitral valve. This surgery was very hard on her and it wasn't totally succesful. There were a couple of leaks around the new valve that were chewing up her red blood cells. After spending much of October through January in the hospital trying to get her stablized, they attempted to fix the leaks in February. That was also only partially successful, and as she was recovering from that procedure, she developed an alergic reaction to one of her medications that gave her a major rash with some open sores the size of a quarter. One of those led to a staph infection that settled around her new mitral valve. Once that was cleared, she developed atrial flutter and had to have that fixed. They then went back in and fixed the last leal around her valve only to have her develop internal bleeding. Following surgery to fix that, her heart started acting up again and they had to install a pace maker.
It hasn't been fun for her, but our Lord has been faithful throughout. She is now doing MUCH better.
